I promise, you’re not the problem.
Women have been told:
Get a better planer.
Wake up earlier.
Get more disciplined.
Prioritize better.
AND, my personal favorite: If you really want it to happen, you’ll make time to get it done. UGH!
That last one is the worst. It puts 100% of the responsibility on you, and if it doesn’t work out, you’re the failure. I’ve been there. I’ve tried to follow all of this advice. If I was too tired to wake up early, I was a failure. If I bought a planner or system that was supposed to fix my life but it didn’t, I was the failure. AND, if I couldn’t get it done, then I must not really want it.
I’m here to tell you that you can’t organize your way out of a life that asks too much of you.
You’re not the problem.
You’re not a failure.
You’re not bad at time management.
I’ll be talking more about this at my upcoming workshop appropriately titled: You’re Not Bad at Time Management. It’s about why overwhelmed women never feel caught up and what actually works instead.
You’re invited to join me!
